My course design uses Fink's Taxonomy of Significant Learning to systematically design courses to achieve six types of learning. Since 2014, I've developed and delivered eight different courses using this evidence-based pedagogy. 

Key features of my course design include systematically designing to achieve six types of learning, backward design that aligns learning outcomes with authentic assessments and activities, and inclusive course policies and practices. Each course features rich learning experiences that integrate multiple types of learning with a focus on high-impact practices including simulations, writing intensives, collaborative learning, e-portfolios, and study abroad. I have extensive pedagogical training including in learning assessment techniques, metacognitive learning strategies, case-based learning, and backward course design. Further, I have completed over 40 hours of training in online course delivery. To establish more inclusive pedagogy and course policies, I trained with the Faculty Institute for Diversity at Cornell University and was named Faculty Fellow for Inclusive Teaching on my campus in 2018.
